The initial version of the sound-piece “The End is Always at The Beginning” was first presented at De Ateliers, Amsterdam in 2017. Now adjusted and presented on a 12“ vinyl, divided into two segments, the work engages with the last scenes of commercial cinema. Although there is not much theory written on the topic of beginnings, directors often emphasize their importance. As is evident in the first opening lines in books, or at the end of a film as they try to wrap up, dissolve or flip the content that was just experienced.
The LP was available together with a publication in a limited edition of 100 pieces. Like the record itself, the content of the publication revolved around the final scenes of films, and remixed them in a fictitious script. The A-side is free interpretation of the german dj and producer Detlef Weinrich (Tolouse Low Trax), while the B-side contains a monologue by American actor James Sobol Kelly.
